Support Local Farmers:

We work directly with local, NC farmers to deliver the freshest food from their fields to your door!

• Unlike national brands that ship produce around the country from large agricultural operations, we work directly with the small farmers in our area. Many of the same farmers you see out at local markets. They harvest fresh for us every week, and we carefully pack your box the same day that you receive it. We use our own delivery vehicles and staff to keep everything fresh, safe, and handled with care. This is how local is supposed to work!

Aside from fresher, higher quality food, one of the big benefits of ordering food while it is still in the fields is the ability to coordinate meals based on your weekly needs and desires! Every week we compile a list of suggested recipes and meals that you can order for the upcoming week. Papa Spud's portions out the fresh items from our farm partners, or anything else that you do not have on hand, so that you get meals ready to cook, without any excess or waste. It is a much more efficient system that saves everyone money, avoids trips to the grocery store, and also helps local farms prepare for upcoming demand and needs!

This Week's Menu:

	Slow Cooker Creamy Potato Soup Perfect for any time of year, this thick and creamy potato soup is super easy to prepare, and packed full of flavor! Potatoes, spices, fresh herbs, cheddar cheese, and crumbled bacon will keep everyone in the family satisfied! Set the slow cooker on low for about ~7 hours cook time, or speed it up on high for a ~4 hour cook time - either way, you can set it and forget it until it is time for dinner! $3.50 per serving
	Paprika Chicken Stroganoff with Mushrooms, Peppers, and Crispy Spaetzle Stroganoff, typically with beef, originates in mid-19th century Russia! This lighter version of the classic Russian dish features paprika spiced chicken instead of beef, served over a bed of sauteed mushrooms, peppers, onions, and fall radishes, in a white wine and sour cream sauce. Top it all of with some fresh parsley, and crispy fried German Spaetzle pasta! A delicious and balanced dish, perfect for any night of the week! $3.50 per serving
	Shepherds Pie Local, pasture raised ground beef from Firsthand Foods, cooked with onions, carrots, and fresh herbs. The flavors come together for a balanced, delicious filling that is not too heavy. Topped with mashed potatoes and roasted in the oven for a golden crisp! This dish hits all of the food groups and is very easy to prepare. With 4-5 servings it is a perfect family dinner, or make it for yourself and a friend and you will have plenty of leftovers! $3.50 per serving
	Louisiana Red Beans and Rice Classic Louisiana Red Beans and Rice is full of flavor, and perfect for any time of year! The Holy Trinity of bell pepper, onions, and celery form the base for this dish, topped with Cajun spiced Andouille sausage, red kidney beans, and plenty of seasoning! An easy dish to put together, and full of flavor! $3.50 per serving
	Soul Food Smothered Chicken Smothered chicken is a soul food classic, with regional touches throughout the south. In fact the regional, and even family diversity is so much, that most consider this more of a technique than an actual recipe. Our version touches on African American influences combined with Creole culture in Louisiana. The Holy Trinity (celery, green bell pepper, and onion) is brought out in this dish, along with humble ingredients that come together for a meal everyone will enjoy! $3.50 per serving
	Warm Kale, Sweet Potato, Pecan, and Apricot Salad This warm kale salad celebrates the earthy sweet harvest of local sweet potatoes and fresh kale. The visually vibrant orange from the roasted sweet potato together with subtle spices is guaranteed to bring on bright and warm feelings. This salad comes together quickly and easily and is equally nourishing and delicious. Blanching the kale is a simple trick to tenderizing these sturdy greens. $3.50 per serving
