Hello Spring! Sunburst Tomatoes are in from Tim Bass of Sunburst Tomato company. Don't let the term "Hot House" fool you, these tomatoes really are delicious. Nutrient levels are carefully monitored, to ensure that each tomato is perfectly fertilized, and unlike out of state tomatoes they are picked at optimal ripeness for phenomenal flavor.
The goats at Black River Farmstead have finished nursing, and we now have goat cheese available again, and a larger supply of it!
Strawberries are finally here again. We currently have them available from Lewis Farm, and hope to have organic berries from Herbie Cottle within the next 3-4 weeks!
We have a new egg supplier is Shari Penland of Fox Hollow Farms in Apex, NC. Shari is adding a few more chicken eggs, as well as a small supply of Quail and even Duck eggs to the list!
The greenhouse is clicking at Jackson Farm, who continue to offer herbs, and edible flowers this week. The flowers go great in salads or as decoration on baked goods or as garnish on just about everything. A very cool way to add a little flair to any seasonal Spring dish!
