Starting next week we plan to have some new baked goods options from a very cool bakery called Panaderia Bread Uprising in Durham, NC. We will be working with them to offer some new artisan bread options, including a tomato-basil using local NC tomatoes, cupcakes, and a gluten-free sandwich bread as has been requested by many Papa Spud's members.

Here is a little more information about Panaderia Bread Uprising and their mission:

Bread Uprising is a community bakery in Durham, NC, rooted in queer, people of color, and working class communities. We are a cooperative – workers and members make decisions together about what happens in the bakery. In addition to baking for Papa Spud's, we operate a weekly subscription program where members contribute whatever they can (or sometimes nothing at all), and receive the bread that they want and need.
We use local and organic ingredients as much as possible – all of our flour is organic and milled in Graham, NC. Our canola oil comes from Warsaw, NC and our honey comes from Hillsborough, NC. We put a lot of energy into preserving local produce when it's in season, so that you can enjoy great NC tomatoes, strawberries, basil, pecans, etc. all year-round!
