Chioggia Beets
Chioggia beets look like a vegetable straight out of a Dr. Seuss book, but this striped beet is very real! Also also known as candy cane or candy striped beets, Chioggia beets have striking deep pink and white spirals on the inside. They have a sweeter, milder flavor than regular beets and add beautiful color to salads and soups! (Tip: Adding a little white vinegar or lemon juice to the water when boiling Chioggia beets will keep their color from fading!)
