Anna’s Fresh Garden Salsa was started in the summer of 2009 by Anna Raynor. Anna has always valued fresh, locally grown produce, and the refrigerated salsas at super markets have always proved to be disappointing. She wanted to incorporate components that she appreciated in fresh salsa, such as crisp, hand cut vegetables without the use food processors. Anna began making her own salsa initially from vegetables she grew in her garden and served it at local events and parties. The salsa was such a hit around her small town of Benson, NC that the demand became too great for her backyard; she began to purchase ingredients from local farmers. Anna’s Fresh Garden Salsa is a blend of freshly chopped vegetables, herbs, and spices; she prides her product in the fact that it is not heat-processed, cooked, nor canned.
Anna is a 2008 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where she majored in Business Marketing and competed on the track and field team, which eventually landed her on the USA team and in the 2008 Olympic Trials.
