Mawmaw, and avid cook, loves throwing ingredients together to make something truly special. After creating top shelf country style chicken pies for her family for years her son, eating a slice hearty goodness (chicken pie) said one day, "Mawmaw, you ought to make these pies and sell them. You could call it 'Mawmaw's Chicken Pies!" It was that defining moment that changed our lives forever. You see, Mawmaw not only loves to cook, but she loves to feed and help people. Mawmaw would do anything to help, especially for her grandchildren. She offered to help her granddaughter, Whitney, make some money to save her from having to take a second job. She showed her the secret to making Mawmaw's now famous chicken pies. They began making pies right in her country kitchen and selling them to the locals who were hearing just how amazing they were. Orders started coming in from everywhere and soon the number of orders out grew Mawmaw's kitchen. After a year of a constantly heated oven, it was time to look into a facility that could better suit the needs of the rapidly expanding demand for her chicken pies. Mawmaw turned to her old beauty shop where she worked as a hair stylist for 30 years. She had this facility transformed into a mini pie manufacturing station.

After just 6 months, the pie business had exploded even more and was now serving many cities and states and the need for more room had once again become the forefront of their discussion. Mawmaw decided it was time to expand into a larger production model. She purchased a warehouse and installed all the necessary equipment to meet USDA requirements for the food serving industry. In just 3 years Mawmaw's Chicken Pies has went from her country kitchen to a warehouse that now has a retail storefront called Mawmaw's Market selling her Pies, other homemade entrees and local NC fresh food vendor items.

God has truly blessed this business, and it continues to grow as our pies are becoming a household name among the locals and now across the nation.
