Garlic Scapes
Garlic scapes are the flower bud of a fresh garlic plant. They are a seasonal product available in the spring when garlic plants start to flower.
The scapes have a mild, sweet, garlicky flavor, similar to chives or scallions, with a bit more garlic flavor. They are crunchy, just like green beans or asparagus, and can be eaten raw in salads, or cooked in a variety of dishes. They go great in stir frys, added to salads, or simply boiled or steamed on their own!
